What is glitch text?
Glitch text mimics corrupted data: letters with strokes cut through them, stray marks, uneven weight. Compared to zalgo, glitch text leans on the through marks (overlays, tildes, strokes) rather than tall stacks, so it stays on one line and reads as “broken” instead of “haunted”.
How to make glitch text
The Glitch style at the top is tuned for this effect; the Strikethrough, Slashed and Tilde strike styles are cleaner, deterministic versions that look the same on every device. Raise the slider for heavier corruption. Use Re-roll until you get a pattern you like, then Copy.
Glitch text for thumbnails and designs
For a YouTube thumbnail or a poster you usually want a real font file rather than copy-paste characters, because combining marks render differently in every design tool. A set of downloadable glitch fonts (.ttf) is planned for the fonts page.
